Yellowstone: Day 4

Day 4 was a Friday and Grandma and Bumpa had to work in the evening so in the morning we went to the grizzly and wolf sanctuary where Grant got to feed the bears! That's right, feed the bears! Evy did NOT want to do it. They take about 30 kids and give the the rules and why they do it this way and that and then they take the bears out of their caged area and secure them. Then they take the kids into the caged area and give them buckets of food to hide from the bears. They learned they have to hide it to keep the bears minds sharp. Grant had fun and I could tell he wanted to stay all day and help but they get all the kids out and then let the bears back in to find their food. We then had some lunch of our own and said goodbye to Grandma and Bumpa for the afternoon. We decided to get some swimming in but a storm came so we weren't out too long. Then we went to the Madison Ranger Station to listen to a Ranger give a lesson about birds of prey and become Jr. Park Rangers. While we were there the storm we just left in West Yellowstone rolled in and I got a great shot. The kids were sworn in and then it was back to our hotel. Grandma and Bumpa were at work so it was a perfect time to visit them. They worked all summer at the IMAX theater in West Yellowstone selling tickets and popcorn and ushering. The kids and I decided to see all the movies back to back so it was a fun night. We would get tickets from Grandma and then get popcorn from Bumpa and go see our movie. Then we'd do it all over again but this time we'd get ice cream or candy, that was dinner! They had 3 movies running Lewis & Clark (which I totally recommend,) Yellowstone, and Amazing Caves (which Grant loved.) All were good and so we had a fun night.
