Two weekends ago Rachael came to visit with no children so it was total us time and it was so nice. She flew in Friday morning after a snow storm and we decided to got to Portillo's for lunch. Evy was with us and it was just girls eating burgers and fries! Then we had to hit the grocery store. Thank goodness Rachael likes to do that sort of thing with me. Then we got Grant from school, had some dinner, and it was off to Sarah's for some crafting and chatting. It was a great night and didn't end until about 2am! We figured Rachael had been up for almost 24 hours. Saturday morning was quiet because we were recovering from Friday but Rachael and Sarah got to go to the lake and photograph the frozen tundra that it is right now. When she got back we headed to the mall for some retail therapy for me and then dinner and a movie. Sarah joined us at the Cheesecake Factory and we all had a bit too much but we managed to roll ourselves into Ann Taylor Loft and then to the movies. We saw The Blind Side in an almost front row because we spent too much time at Ann Taylor but it was still an amazing movie. Because of the cold we drove Sarah to her car and she had the pleasure of sitting in Grant's booster seat. I'm so jealous her bottom fits in it! Anyway, on the way home Rachael and I went through the drive through at Portillo's and got their famous chocolate cake, you can see why my butt doesn't fit in that seat. Sunday was off to church and Evy's first day in Primary, which went well! That night we shared a good meal at the Severson's. Monday we went to Sarah's and had some yummy KOI takeout and then headed to the airport, not before we picked up a Giordonao's pizza so Rachael could feed her family with a Chicago pie when she got home. I am so grateful she and Matt made the sacrifice so she could come!
