Wagner Farm

Here we are at an old farm in the area. The Wagner Farm is a part of the Glenview Park District now but it used to be a big working farm. They have chickens, pigs, horses, and cows. There is one cow, Rita, who they milk twice a day for all to see. We were just about to leave when they walked Rita over to the milking station so we decided to watch. It was the modern way of milking and it was cool to see. They also have a "museum" where children can see how stores looked back then and a place to collect pretend eggs and milk a pretend cow. Grant and Alex loved the old scale & type writer in the store. Evelyn loved the animals. I loved the 20 rocking chairs on the porch. They also have a swing from a tree and a period home but it's under construction right now. It was a fun, last minute, end-of the-summer activity! Thanks Carrie!!
